Special Events

If you’re planning a special event in Dandridge, Tennessee = especially one held on property owned or maintained by the Town – you’ll generally need to follow the Town’s Special Events Policy and complete a Special Event Application as part of the review and approval process.
The application is designed to capture the basics (host organization, event dates/times, location, anticipated attendance, vendors/entertainment, power needs), and it also helps the Town coordinate any requested support from departments like Police, Fire, Parks & Recreation, and Public Works. As outlined in the policy/application packet, organizers may need to provide supporting items such as a site plan, emergency management plan, medical services plan, and insurance policy, and to plan for operational details like traffic/parking, portable toilets, tents, and trash handling. The policy also calls out key safety expectations—such as security staffing guidance (e.g., one security guard per 600 people, subject to adjustment), requirements for road/right-of-way closures to be approved, and additional coordination for fireworks/open flames/pyrotechnics.
